Todays instructions: “Write about your favourite knitting…tool.”
I don’t use too many abnormal knitting things. If you know nothing at all about knitting, what do you think someone uses to knit? Yarn and needles (period). That’s about all I typically use. I usually knit strictly with circular bamboo needles (for you non knitters, those are needles attached together with a little tube), but that’s just mainly because I bought a big pack cheap, so I have all the sizes. And I make mostly hats, so I knit in the round. From time to time I use DPNs (double pointed needles), cable needles, or sometimes even long straight needles, but I mostly stick with my normal needles, yarn, oh, and stitch markers!
I do love stitch markers. I see people on the internet being “money savy” and “super smart” by using other things for stitch markers, like rings (that you wear on your fingers), safety pins, or really, anything small and circular. Well, that’s all fine and good, but, now maybe this is just me, but I lose so freakin’ many stitch markers, it’s absurd. I remember sitting down one evening knitting and loosing 3 stitch markers. Oops. I usually find them a few days later, under the couch, in the couch, just laying on the floor…but I can’t imagine using my wedding rings and losing my wedding ring every row in the process of a hat. I mean, I can’t be the only one who’s so careless with stitch markers, am I?
And really, save money? I bought this cute little back, of cute colors, from one of those craft stores for like a dollar. And they always have a 40-50% off coupon. Who’s savy now…

I love stitch markers too!
I thonk that thete is a stitch marker fairy who comes and borrows them all the time!
haha, that must be it!
I love stitch marker too:) I have some really fancy handmade beaded ones but I find that I always come back to the plain circle ones I bought ages ago for almost nothing.
Oh, I need some of those. Split ring, but yet not. And I love the colors!!
I love the plain ones best too –although I don’t have any just like those above. I’ll have to check those out. I’m teaching one of my daughters to knit socks, so I’ve seen a lot laying around lately 🙂 I often use the split ring ones, but sometimes they fall out…
