Pumpkin Bow Headband Knit Pattern

Pumpkin Bow Headband Knit Pattern -- laceandyarn.com

As promised, here’s the pattern I used to create this adorable knit pumpkin bow headband.

The base pattern I used is from Blue Sky Alpacas.  You can find the pattern here (Miss Savannah Bow).  I love Blue Sky Alpaca yarn, and they have some pretty awesome free patterns on their site.  Definitely worth checking out.

The Miss Savannah Bow pattern is a newborn pattern (0-6 months), and that headband no longer fits my baby girls head!  Here’s my baby girl wearing it at 4 months.

Here’s my knit pattern modifications for the Blue Sky Alpacas Miss Savannah Bow Pattern.

Sizing: 6-12 months (1-2 yrs, 2-4 yrs+)

Needles: US 7 (US 8, US 9)

Yarn: Orange — Malabrigo 100% Pure Baby Merino Wool Twist in Sunset 96*, and Brown — Berroco Vintage Chunky 6179* (although I love this yarn, any scrap brown yarn you have will do).  I am loving this Malabrigo Twist Baby Merino Wool.  I’ve been a fan of Malabrigo wool yarns for a while, but this kind is soooo soft. Highly recommended!

Directions:  Complete Miss Savannah Bow Pattern as written.  That’s it!

Here’s one waiting to be assembled:

Keep in mind all I’m adjusting is the needle size, meaning the stitches will be a little bigger for each size up.  You can also modify this pattern by making the bow larger or smaller, and same with the headband size.  For instance, the Pumpkin Bow Headband my daughter is wearing in the above photo has 3 row of the seed stitch in the headband, not 2, so as you can see, it’s a little larger.
