Knitting and Crochet Blog Week IV Day Four: Colour Review

Today’s instructions:  What are your favourite colours for knitted or crocheted projects.4KCBWDAY4If you know me, you know that I love color.   I find inspiration from color.  Colors definitely help set my mood.  Color means a lot is every aspect of my life from my clothes, to home decor, to the dishes I eat off of and everything in between.  So naturally, this would include my yarn choice.

The collage above are some of the colors I found around my house while thinking about today’s post.  I noticed that these colors have been a lot of the same colors I’ve been knitting with recently.  Here is some of the scrap yarn I’ve found laying around from past products:

4KCBWDAY4I think the colors I knit with are mostly neutrals.  I mean, you need a pop of color here and there.  As you can tell, when I use color, I like to use deep, rich color.  From looking at the yarn scraps and the color collage, I’m defining my “in” colors of right now are teal, sage, gold, plum, grey, and white.  All combinations of these colors are wonderful, with some variation of color allowed.

I’m not including my novelty hats I’ve been making for my son in my color post.  Character and themed hats for kids don’t count!  Those have to be certain colors…

With my “in” colors in mind, I’m looking towards the fall.  I’m currently working on my baby and toddler hat fall line for my Etsy shop.  These are some of the colors I’m working with.fall color inspiration

I’ve posted a sneak peak on my Facebook page.  Pop on over if you’d like a sneak peak of Miss Frankie modeling a (gold) fall toddler hat.  Bonus points if you like my page!!

  1. those things were all in your home? super awesome! I bet your home is really rad. I like blacks, greys, navy blues, greyish blues…etc. you mentioned your plates…I just realized, even my Corelle plates are white squares with black lines on them. lol

    1. haha, thanks! Isn’t it funny how we gravitate towards similar colors in all aspects of our life? Or at least, certain colors for an amount of time…I’ve been finding it “hard” to decorate many rooms of my house at once because I just want to use all the same colors everywhere. One might suggest that’s a good thing, but I think it’s boring! I’m having to space out my decorating so I have time to get over colors and move on to something else so everything doesn’t look the same!
